The work of the Jeff Gordon Design spans more than three and a half decades, and pursues these objectives and principles:
Each project is unique. We do not default to a signature style. We use an inclusive methodology and deep knowledge of design history to craft each project to respond to its unique set of requirements, physical conditions, and cultural context.
All scales of design are interdependent, from furniture, to architecture, to urban form. We study and practice at all scales to produce the highest quality work at each scale.
Construction generates design. We don’t figure out how to build late in the design process. We consider materials and building practices from day one as a way to produce character, economy, technical soundness, and permanence.
We pursue common-sense sustainable design, which responds to client resources, long-term maintenance, and respect for the earth and its finite resources.
